I met my husband when I was 33, was 35 when we married, and was the "advanced maternal age" (I can't believe they call it that) of 36 when we started "trying" for a baby.
The year we were engaged and married, I started to wonder: "how much will my age truly affect my fertility?"
I had been a fertility expert for years, and was familiar with the typical narrative that a woman's fertility falls off a cliff at the age of 35. But I wanted to look at the research, at the data, and see for myself. What I found both encouraged and infuriated me.
